HK-JHW Polymer Waterproof Mortar
Construction Process
Old concrete chiseling → sandblasting (or using a steel brush) to remove rust (dirt) → applying steel reinforcement rust inhibitor → rinsing with clean water to saturate → applying polymer mortar → curing (when bonding at the interface, high-strength polymer mortar interface treatment agent can be pre applied).
1.Chiseling: To remove dirt from the surface of the base concrete, a steel wire brush or sandblasting method can be used. For areas contaminated with paint or grease, clean with acetone. If there is severe looseness, manual chiseling should be used to remove the damaged concrete and expose the hard and firm concrete surface. The chiseling should be comprehensive and thorough, but not too deep to avoid damaging the undamaged concrete. If the steel bars are corroded and exposed, remove the rust and apply rust inhibitor.
2.Saturation: 2 hours before applying mortar, rinse the debris and dust on the surface of the chiseled concrete with a high-pressure water gun, and spray continuously and evenly with drinking water to saturate the surface concrete without any visible water.
3.Construction: A. Use a spatula or hard bristled brush to evenly scrape or apply the mixed slurry on the base layer. When the thickness of the standing or top surface layer is greater than 10mm, layer by layer construction should be carried out until the first layer has set; Apply the second layer again until the design thickness is reached. The intervals between layers should be 3-4 hours, and the thickness of each layer should be ≤ 5-10mm; The construction direction of the front and back should cross to avoid missed brushing; B. The construction environment temperature should be within the range of 5-30 ℃.
Curing: after construction, spray curing or covering shall be carried out to keep wet, and the curing temperature shall not be lower than 5 ℃. After 24 hours of construction, cover with plastic cloth for 7 days of moist curing, and water can be sprinkled on the surface at regular intervals.
Construction Precautions
1.Clean the base surface, chisel off damaged or loose concrete, sandblasting (or using a steel brush) to remove rust and oil stains, so that the surface of the exposed steel bars is free of rust and the concrete surface is rough;
2. When repairing manually, whether using mechanical spraying or manual plastering of mortar, a trowel should be used in one direction and should be applied as much as possible in one go to avoid back and forth plastering.
Dosage
According to a water to material ratio of 1:5-7 (water should be increased appropriately when the temperature is high), add water and stir evenly. The prepared slurry should be used up within 0.5-1 hour. If the mortar is not used in a timely manner and becomes dry and hard, it cannot be mixed again with water and should be discarded.
